<p>sadly no good news and I can feel it affecting my health
immediately. I got these messages from Thomas - he's okay with me
sharing: <br>

<p>Message one at 20:17 CEST: <br>

<p> "sorry, busy so far.... can only briefly...<br>

Yes, the transfer worked. I then asked myself whether it made
sense, because Armin said that he had done everything digitally
and had given it to you.<br>
<br>
The real surprise was when we looked into Lexware. He said he
hadn't changed anything since he showed it to you in a video
<br>
conference. But: there were no more bookings in Lexware. I
didn't understand that! So I couldn't save anything either.<br>
<br>
In addition to 2 boxes of folders with the bookkeeping and so
on, I also got a stick. You already have all that, says Armin.
There's a <br>
backup on it, I'll try to import it at my place. Hopefully the
receipts will be back in the system. Armin tries to find the hard
drive where <br>
he saved the backup copies.<br>

He must have sent the tax returns via Elster. Were you able to
log in there?<br>
<br>
And what I also didn't know is that Schomerus und Partner no
longer provides tax advice. He was probably there with Gerhard
<br>
(Heilhaus) and they said they could no longer do it. Since
then it's been without tax advice. What a bummer, hopefully the
declarations have been made and submitted correctly.<br>

Phew, personal impression: Armin is not doing well at the
moment. He seemed restless and forgetful. First he brought the
boxes to my car, then we were at his computer, then he didn't
even remember that we'd brought the boxes...<br>

Ok, in the next few days I'll try to read the data into my
computer... I'll let you know then..."</p>

<p> "Unfortunately, the one backup that was on the stick, I can't
import anything into my accounting. man oh man, what a mess!"</p>

<p>So this means that I'll need to reconstruct the Lexware
bookkeeping since 2020. I actually found data on 2019 from the
software. In addition I need to prepare documents about the
activities that GEN Europe did in regards to the aims and goals as
a charity. Honestly I'm not sure if I'm capable and got the time
for this. I can try but I feel a lot of anxiety about it. And I
have no idea how the German tax office will react as the
bookkeeping isn't in good shape even if I manage to submit the
reports rather soonish. <br>

<p>Definitely feeling overwhelmed and unclear how to tackle this. <br>

<p>thanks for the reply. Thomas wrote me on Tuesday afternoon that
he would be going this afternoon but I haven't heard from him
yet. Once I got a reply I'll let you know. And I'd say that if
matters aren't cleared we'll have to involve police as the
situation is bad and I hope that the German tax office is going
to be forgiving as the reports to renew the charity status
should have been done in 2022 and supposedly Armin wanted to do
it (see attachment with translation). <br>

<p>I've had a good call with Manja (put her in CC, forgot with the
first mail) and I'm trying to detach myself from feeling
responsible - which is hard as I love GEN Europe and I don't
want to cause more trouble or do a bigger mess as I'm doing
things currently as if we had a charity status... <br>
</p>
<p>I'll try to get the documents together needed for the renewal
and hope to have good news about the last bits of data as well.

höre - zumindest mit einer Erklärung, warum ich
weiterhin den bereinigten Jahresabschluss 2019 sowie
die Jahresabschlüsse 2020 bis 2023 nicht habe. <br>

<p>Da die Kommunikation sehr schwierig war und ich
gefühlt von Irland aus dir nicht genug Unterstützung
anbieten kann, habe ich Thomas Heuser gefragt, ob er
persönlich bei dir vorbeikommen könnte, um
Lexware-Export und Ordnerabholung fürs Jahr 2023
machen zu können. <br>

<p>Entsprechend hier nun eine Mail an euch beide, damit
diese Idee weiter verfolgt werden kann. Es könnte ja
auch am 10.10. passieren, wenn das der Termin ist, an
