Dear EC2 team,

I hope, you're all well! As you might remember, I've worked on a book
about collective climate action next to our amazing collaboration in the
EC2 project. Now, the book is finally out there and available as an open
access version: /The Psychology of Collective Climate Action/ /-
Building Climate Courage/ (Routledge). I warmly invite you to explore
and share it with other researchers and practitioners working toward
socio-ecological transformation.

Best wishes from Leipzig,

Karen

/The Psychology of Collective Climate Action/ tackles two key questions:
how can individuals be motivated to participate in collective climate
action, and how can climate groups become resilient and effective? We
dive deep into the psychology behind collective action - how people
build a sense of identification with climate groups and come to believe
that their collective efforts really can make a difference. The book
touches on a wide range of topics, from anger, moral considerations,
activist burnout, and the perception of protests, to general theories of
socio-ecological change.

If you’re a practitioner, you’ll find:
- Key drivers of collective climate action - and how to foster them
- Real stories and examples from the climate movement
- Reflective exercises to stay motivated and grounded
- A source of courage in the face of the climate crisis

If you’re a scientist, you’ll get:
- A clear, up-to-date overview of research in this area
- Inspiration for your next research project
- Teaching-ready examples and exercises
- A great resource to share with your practice collaborators, so they
can understand your research better
